1. Kynance Mews
One of London’s most instagrammable streets – Kynance Mews (aka the street from Netflix’s You) is worth a visit at any time of year, but particularly beautiful in autumn, when its archway entrance is covered in autumn leaves.
In 2022 Kynance Mews was undergoing construction and some of it was blocked by scaffolding (like in the photo above), but Kynance Mews in 2023 is now scaffolding free and back to looking picture perfect.
2. St Dunstan in the East
St Dunstan in the East is one of London’s best hidden gems. It’s a former churchyard that was damaged in the Great Fire of London in 1666. It’s now a beautiful little city park and the original church windows still remain. Like everywhere on this list it’s especially pretty in the autumn.
3. Little Venice
Another of London’s best hidden gems – Little Venice is a scenic canal-side neighbourhood. It’s the perfect place for a peaceful walk in London, and especially lovely when the canal paths are decorated with colourful autumn leaves.
4. Hampstead Pergola
Hampstead Pergola is a stunning hillside terrace tucked away in a corner of Hampstead Heath. It’s a must visit place in London in autumn and looks especially picturesque surrounded by fall foliage.
5. Holly Village
Yet another of London’s best hidden gems – Holly Village is a secret village within a village in Highate in North London. This Neo-gothic gated village looks like something out of a fairytale at any time of year, but even more so in autumn.
6. Chelsea
Chelsea is one of the loveliest London neighbourhoods to explore in autumn. Head down to the Chelsea Embankment to see autumnal trees lining the River Thames and wander the pretty side streets for more perfect autumnal instagram spots – the pastel houses of Bywater Street and Cinqucento in Cale Street are 2 of the best.
7. Richmond Hill
Richmond is another one of the best London neighbourhoods to visit in fall. Walk up Richmond Hill to enjoy beautiful views of autumn leaves in London and the River Thames.
8. Richmond Park
At the top of Richmond Hill you’ll find Richmond Park. One of London’s biggest and best parks – Richmond Park is home to hundreds of wild deer and is also one of the best autumn places to visit in London.
9. Hyde Park
Hyde Park – one of London’s most iconic green spaces – transforms into a beautiful tapestry of colour during autumn. As summer fades, the park’s array of trees transform into vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold. The crunch of fallen leaves underfoot and the crisp, cool air create the perfect atmosphere for leisurely strolls. Visitors can wander along the tree-lined avenues, take in the beauty of the Serpentine Lake, and enjoy the quieter, more relaxing side of the park.
You can also get cosy in the park’s cafés, like the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen – set by the river and offering lovely views of autumnal scenery.
10. Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park is one of the absolute best parks to visit in London in autumn, as well as admiring all the fall leaves you’ll also be able to enjoy stunning views of London from the top of the park.
11. Kyoto Gardens
Kyoto Gardens is a picturesque Japanese-style garden in London’s Holland Park. It’s one of London’s best peaceful spots and a perfect garden to visit in autumn.
12. Belgravia
One of the best London neighbourhoods to visit in autumn – Belgravia in Central London (close to Victoria Station) is an affluent neighbourhood filled with grand residential streets and instagrammable shops and cafes.
