The best things to do in Chiswick, London
Today I’m sharing all the best things to do in Chiswick, one of my absolute favourite parts of London. Loved by locals, but less well known to tourists, Chiswick in West London is home to lovely riverside walks, lots of green space, cosy pubs and cute coffee shops.
The best things to do in Chiswick
1. Chiswick House & Gardens
Chiswick House & Gardens is one of the most iconic landmarks in Chiswick. This magnificent 18th-century villa, designed by the third Earl of Burlington, is a masterpiece of Neo-Palladian architecture. The house itself is a sight to behold, with its elegant proportions and exquisite interiors that reflect the grandeur of the Georgian era.
The surrounding gardens are equally impressive. Spanning 65 acres, they are a perfect blend of formal and informal landscapes, featuring sweeping lawns, serene lakes, and ornate statues. The gardens are meticulously maintained and offer a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of London life. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll, enjoying a picnic, or simply relaxing by the lake, the gardens provide a perfect backdrop for a day out.
Chiswick House & Gardens also host a variety of events throughout the year, from outdoor concerts and theatre performances to horticultural shows and guided tours. The annual Camellia Festival is particularly popular, showcasing the beautiful blooms in the Conservatory. With so much to see and do, a visit to Chiswick House & Gardens is a must for anyone exploring the area.
2. Chiswick Mall
Chiswick Mall is a charming riverside stretch that offers stunning views of the Thames.
