Have you visited Greenwich in London yet? This lovely part of London is always a treat to explore – it has some great attractions, a huge park and is right on the River Thames, but still maintains an authentic local neighbourhood vibe. In this London guide I’m going to be sharing all the best things to do in Greenwich.

1. Greenwich Park

One of London’s 8 royal parks – visiting Greenwich Park is one of the absolute best things to do in Greenwich. Greenwich Park is such a gem of a city park, offering lots of lovely green space and panoramic views over London.

One of the best times to visit Greenwich Park is during cherry blossom season (usually April – early May) when the park is fulled with beautiful blossoms. Tip – if you want to get some pretty pics of the cherry blossom in Greenwich Park, it’s best to get there as early in the day as possible as it soon gets very busy with other people with the same idea!

2. Queens House

If you’re looking for a really greet free things to do in London, visit Queens House Greenwich. Queen’s House is a beautiful formal royal residence, home to an internationally renowned art collection. You can book tickets in advance on Queen’s House’s website if you want to guarantee your entry, but you can also usually just turn up on the day.

3. Prime Meridian

If you’re looking for the best Greenwich things to do you can’t miss the Prime Meridian – the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT.) You can get up close to the Prime Meridian for free – in a peak spot in Greenwich Park – but if you want the opportunity to stand on either side of the Prime Meridian Line and visit the Greenwich Royal Observatory (the home of space and time), you’ll need to buy a ticket.

4. Greenwich Market

Greenwich Market is a brilliant indoor market in London, home to lots of interesting stalls selling arts, crafts, antiques and delicious food. The market is open daily, with slightly different offerings each day. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Weekends you’ll find interesting arts and crafts stalls to peruse. If you’re after antiques, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are the best days to visit. Or if you want to taste some great street food visit the market on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

5. Old Royal Naval College & Painted Hall

For a spot of culture, visit The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. The Old Royal Naval College is a historic riverside estate and UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the stunning Painted Hall – a 17th century hall that took almost 20 years to paint.

You can explore the outside of the college buildings for free, but you’ll need to buy a ticket if you wanted to visit the Painted Hall – this great guided tour, includes hidden gem photo spots and a visit to an original Victorian skittle alley within the college.

6. Cutty Sark

The Cute Sark is an iconic historic sailing ship, that’s now displayed by the River Thames in Greenwich. You can book tickets to climb onboard and explore the ship, or for a really nice experience you can treat yourself to a Cutty Sark afternoon tea.

7. Trafalgar Tavern

The Trafalgar Tavern is a lovely traditional pub on the banks of the River Thames in Greenwich. On a warm sunny day it’s one of the best places in London to enjoy a pub garden drink, or on a colder day it’s a great option for a cosy pub roast.

The best places to stay in Greenwich
